Hallmark Media enters the scripted podcast realm with the launch of their Mahogany original podcast series, “Crimson Hearts Collide.” The romance-mystery podcast series is produced by AYR Media and stars Malinda Williams, Amanda Seales, and Keith D. Robinson.
An eight-part series, “Crimson Hearts Collide” narrates the compelling journey of Sonora Williams, a driven New York City lawyer. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she receives a letter revealing the existence of an uncle who recently passed away, leaving her a farm in Alabama. Raised in foster care and always believing herself to be without family, Sonora embarks on a quest for answers. Her journey to Alabama introduces her to the farm’s caretakers, including the charismatic cowboy Zeke Summers, who immediately captures her heart.
“Crimson Hearts Collide” marks the first-ever scripted podcasting venture for the company and a milestone in the continued extension of Hallmark’s legacy brand Mahogany, an iconic 30+ year-old card line brought to life as a Hallmark Media entertainment initiative last year. Mahogany content offerings spotlight storytelling that exemplifies family, community, connection, positivity, and the power of love – all through the unique lens of Black culture.
Toni Judkins, Hallmark Media’s Senior Vice President of Programming Development, expressed excitement about this venture, stating, “I’m thrilled for fans to experience the heart of our powerful Hallmark storytelling in this new, accessible and rapidly growing medium. AYR Media, in partnership with Aliza Rosen, brings this enthralling podcast series to life with episodes 1 and 2 set to premiere on August 24, followed by weekly releases every Thursday on popular podcast platforms. “Crimson Hearts Collide” will be accessible on major podcast platforms, offering new episodes each week for eager listeners to enjoy.
