Overstepping will be penned and executive produced by Lauren Ashley Smith, best known for her work as head writer on HBO’s A Black Lady Sketch Show. With credits on BET’s The Rundown with Robin Thede and Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Smith brings her comedic flair and expertise to the new series. Wayans Jr.’s Two Shakes Entertainment has been on a steady rise. Besides Poppa’s House, the company is behind the game show Raid the Cage and is working on a firefighter drama titled Ten House for CBS.
