Mike Tyson will star in Bunny-Man, an upcoming superhero movie, set to begin filming in Italy next week with most of the film will be shot on a virtual set. Tyson, who is days away from a boxing match with Jake Paul, has already wrapped his scenes for the project, which is planned as the first in a trilogy.
Joining Tyson in the Bunny-Man ensemble are Michele Morrone (365 Days), Franco Nero (Django), and Ana Golja, who will share the screen with Bella Thorne and James Franco. Motus Studios, led by CEO Emanuele Moretti, is selling the project at the American Film Market (AFM), while Andrea Iervolino (Ferrari) is on board as producer. According to Deadline, Iervolino, who is enthusiastic about the potential of Bunny-Man, will portray the title character himself, whose real identity is a closely guarded secret.
The storyline of Bunny-Man centers on a wealthy yet reclusive superhero who dons a rabbit mask to fight against criminal forces. Driven by a personal tragedy—his sister’s suicide following an assault that was publicized online—the Bunny-Man uses his resources and anonymity to deliver justice from the shadows. The character’s unique look and dark backstory have already generated significant interest, and images from a press conference earlier this year featuring Tyson in connection with the role suggest a gritty tone for the film.
Producer Andrea Iervolino sees Bunny-Man as a milestone in the superhero landscape: “This character embodies both mystery and modernity, not just in his story but in how the audience relates to him. It’s a privilege to produce Italy’s first superhero franchise, and I’m confident it will leave a lasting impact on the global market.”
Motus Studios CEO Emanuele Moretti echoed the excitement: “We strongly believe in the commercial potential of Bunny-Man; this is the start of a unique independent superhero saga.”
In addition to the movie, a music single connected to Bunny-Man is set to release alongside the film, adding another layer to the franchise’s debut.
