Michael Perez-Lindsey’s directorial debut Will I See You Again? has welcomed new executive producers to his short film, including DeWanda Wise, Travon Free and Martin Desmond Roe (the duo behind Oscar-winning short Two Distant Strangers) , and Mickey Meyer.

The film follows Max Palmer, played by Hosea Chanchez (The Game), a pastor and community leader in Lexington, Kentucky, at a crossroads amidst a divorce and questions surrounding his sexuality. His past resurfaces when Paul (Nick Wechsler, Revenge), his estranged former teammate and secret ex-lover from college, returns for their late friend Jim’s (Robert Okumu) estate hearing. To claim their inheritance, they must confront unresolved issues from their past, including a polygraph test that forces them to address buried truths.
The cast also features Richard Lawson (Tyler Perry’s Divorce in the Black), Anna Maria Horsford, and Rosanny Zayas (The L Word: Generation Q), Naomi Walley, and Whitney Morgan Cox.
Chanchez is also an executive producer alongside Lindsey, Perez-Lindsey, Joseph Richards, William Mehserle Jr., Cornell Verdeja-Woodson, and Navid Hamid.

After premiering at the Oscar-qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival, where it was nominated for Best LGBTQIA+ Award, the film will soon be up for Oscars consideration.
Wise recently starred alongside Shailene Woodley and Betty Gilpin in Three Women, the STARZ adaptation of Lisa Taddeo’s exploration of female desire. Additionally, Wise led the Blumhouse horror film Imaginary, which she also executive produced, and starred in Chris Pine’s directorial debut Poolman.
Travon Free and Martin Desmond Roe, the Academy Award-winning duo behind Two Distant Strangers, bring a rich storytelling legacy to the project. Their documentary BS High premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and was the most-watched documentary on HBO in 2023. They also won a Sports Emmy for What Agnes Saw, a short film played during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics’ opening ceremony. Currently, Free and Roe are working on an adaptation of S.A. Cosby’s Razorblade Tears for Paramount.
