Godolkin University is shutting down.
Gen V will not return for a third season at Amazon Prime Video, marking the end of the college-set spinoff of The Boys. The news was confirmed as the series wrapped its second season in October 2025.
While the cancellation closes the doors at Godolkin University, the story is far from over. Executive producers Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg emphasized that the characters will continue to appear within the broader franchise.
“While we wish we could keep the party going another season at Godolkin, we’re committed to continuing the ‘Gen V’ characters’ stories in ‘The Boys’ Season 5 and other VCU projects on the horizon. You’ll see them again,” they said in a joint statement.
Set at Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, Gen V followed a group of young supes training to enter The Seven while navigating corruption, power, and survival in a world dominated by Vought International. The series starred Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Sean Patrick Thomas, Hamish Linklater, and the late Chance Perdomo.
Despite strong initial performance—its Season 2 premiere drew 424 million viewing minutes and landed in Nielsen’s Top 10—viewership tapered off over time, with the show only briefly re-entering the charts.
The cancellation comes as the larger The Boys universe continues to expand even as its flagship series prepares to conclude. The upcoming fifth season of The Boys will feature characters from Gen V, continuing threads established in the Season 2 finale.
Meanwhile, the franchise is moving forward with the prequel series Vought Rising, centered on Soldier Boy and Stormfront in the 1950s, slated for 2027. Another spinoff, The Boys: Mexico, remains in development.
