Netflix Unveils Trailer for 'Girls5Eva' Season 3: Reuniting the Girl Group for a Musical Comeback

Netflix has unveiled the trailer for the upcoming third season of “Girls5Eva,” the musical comedy series created and executive produced by Meredith Scardino. Originally on Peacock, the show transitioned to Netflix for its third season, set to release on March 14, along with the availability of the first two seasons on the streaming platform.

The series revolves around a reunited girl group from the late ’90s, Girls5eva, comprised of Sara Bareilles, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Paula Pell, and Busy Philipps. The newly released trailer provides a glimpse into the past seasons, offering a refresher for viewers.

The logline for Season 3 reveals that the girls have recorded a new album, “Returnity,” prompting them to embark on a comeback tour. The catch: no plan, tour manager, or secured venues. The ladies venture into the unknown, aiming to promote their album and reclaim their former success. Along the way, they face challenges on the road, test their relationships, play at a billionaire’s birthday party, confront parental influences, cross paths with a pop icon, and question their desire for fame.

Meredith Scardino serves as the creator, writer, executive producer, and showrunner, with Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, David Miner, Eric Gurian, and Jeff Richmond also contributing as executive producers. The third season, consisting of six episodes, promises a blend of humor, nostalgia, and the exploration of the struggles associated with the pursuit of fame.

As the ’90s nostalgia continues to thrive, “Girls5Eva” taps into the cultural zeitgeist, bringing back Dawn, Wickie, Summer, and Gloria for another round of laughter and music. The trailer emphasizes the challenges the group faces in their quest for a monumental comeback, creating anticipation for the upcoming season on Netflix.
