Paramount+ Sets Premiere Date for Final Season of Star Trek: Discovery [KEY ART]

Paramount+ has officially announced the premiere date for the fifth and final season of its original series, Star Trek: Discovery. The premiere is set for Thursday, April 4, and will be exclusively available on Paramount+ in the U.S., the UK, Switzerland, South Korea, Latin America, Germany, France, Italy, Australia, Austria, and Canada.

The upcoming season, consisting of 10 episodes, will kick off with a double feature, offering fans an immediate immersion into the final chapter. Subsequent episodes will be released weekly on Thursdays, following the initial launch.

In this conclusive season, Captain Burnham and the U.S.S. Discovery crew will embark on a galactic adventure, delving into a mystery surrounding an ancient power deliberately concealed for centuries. The pursuit of this hidden force becomes a race against dangerous adversaries, determined to seize the coveted prize at any cost.

The cast of Star Trek: Discovery Season 5 includes Sonequa Martin-Green as Captain Michael Burnham, Doug Jones as Saru, Anthony Rapp as Paul Stamets, Mary Wiseman as Sylvia Tilly, Wilson Cruz as Dr. Hugh Culber, David Ajala as Cleveland “Book” Booker, Blu del Barrio as Adira, and Callum Keith Rennie as Rayner. Recurring guest stars are Elias Toufexis (L’ak) and Eve Harlow (Moll).

Produced by CBS Studios in collaboration with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment, the series boasts an impressive lineup of executive producers, including Alex Kurtzman, Michelle Paradise, Heather Kadin, Aaron Baiers, Olatunde Osunsanmi, Sonequa Martin-Green, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry, and Trevor Roth. Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise also serve as co-showrunners.

Star Trek: Discovery’s legacy is further solidified by its groundbreaking contributions to the “Star Trek” franchise, being the flagship modern series since its 2017 debut. The show introduced a Black female protagonist and prominently featured LGBTQIA+ characters, setting new standards for inclusivity in the “Star Trek” universe.

Ahead of the final season, seasons one through four are currently available for streaming exclusively on Paramount+ in various regions. In Canada, the series airs on Bell Media’s CTV Sci-Fi Channel, and it is distributed globally by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
