The series follows the young women of Figure Skating in Harlem, a groundbreaking program that empowers girls of color through figure skating, academics, and leadership development.

Harlem Ice captures the resilience, talent, and sisterhood of these trailblazing skaters as they navigate a season filled with competitions, performances, and a transformative global experience. From the struggles of preparing for the rink to the joy of making their mark, the series takes viewers into their world as they break barriers in a sport where they have been historically underrepresented.

The series features Tori Prentice, Ashley Prentice, Adrianna Walker, Ariyana Peal, Ila Epperson, Katie Thordarson, and Vashti Lonsdale as they work to overcome obstacles and achieve their dreams in a sport that historically lacks diversity.

“When we skate on the ice, we make a statement. We are girls of color, and we’re powerful,” a coach declares in the trailer, underscoring the importance of representation in the sport.

The docuseries is executive-produced by Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts, along with Ron Howard and Brian Grazer through Imagine Documentaries.

Figure Skating in Harlem, the organization at the heart of Harlem Ice, is dedicated to mentoring girls from underserved communities. By combining figure skating with academic and leadership programs, it transforms lives while fostering confidence and excellence both on and off the ice.

All episodes of Harlem Ice will be available for streaming exclusively on Disney+ starting February 12.

Harlem Ice joins Disney+’s growing lineup of documentary-style series, including Choir and On Pointe, offering families and audiences a glimpse into unique and inspiring worlds.
