Lifetime is gearing up to add a suspenseful twist to its August lineup with the premiere of the original movie ‘I Thought My Husband’s Wife Was Dead.’ The thriller, based on the novel ‘Unmissing’ by Minka Kent, will debut on August 3 at 8/7c.
The cast features Grammy Award winner LeToya Luckett (‘Greenleaf,’ ‘Treme’), Sherilyn Allen (‘Coroner,’ ‘She Went Missing’), former pro football player Jamall Johnson (‘Mahalia,’ ‘How She Caught a Killer’), and Angela “Black Chyna” White (‘The Black Hamptons,’ ‘Vicious Affair’).

‘I Thought My Husband’s Wife Was Dead’ follows Lola Winters, played by Sherilyn Allen, a beautiful wife and expectant mother who appears to have an idyllic life with her dashing husband Leo, portrayed by Jamall Johnson, and their successful restaurant business. Their perfect world is shattered when Tori, played by LeToya Luckett, reappears after being missing for five years and presumed dead. Her sudden return raises questions about her motives and why she hasn’t contacted the police. As tensions escalate, Tori demands a large sum of money from the Winters, leading to a shocking revelation that uncovers even darker secrets.
The movie is produced for Lifetime by JPS Productions Inc., with Stacy Mandelberg and Tamara T. Gregory as executive producers. Navid Soofi serves as the producer, and Troy Scott directs the film from a script written by Tamara T. Gregory, adapted from Kent’s novel.
