Blair Underwood is the latest to join Ryan Murphy’s upcoming FX limited series Impeachment: American Crime Story about the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky sex scandal. He will star in a recurring capacity.
Underwood joins Clive Owen, Beanie Feldstein, Sarah Paulson, Annaleigh Ashford, Anthony Green, and Billy Eichner as journalist Matt Drudge.

Michael Uppendahl is directing and Sarah Burgess is writing the third season of American Crime Story. The Impeachment season is based on Jeffrey Toobin’s book A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President.
It will set to chronicle the impeachment of 42nd President of the United States Bill Clinton (Owen) for charges of perjury and obstruction of justice.
It will examine the national crisis that led to the first impeachment of a U.S. President in over a century. It tells this story through the eyes of the women at the center of the events: Monica Lewinsky (Feldstein), Linda Tripp (Paulson) and Paula Jones (Ashford). All three were thrust into the public spotlight during a time of corrosive partisan rancor, shifting sexual politics and a changing media landscape. The series shows how power lifts some and disposes of others in the halls of our most sacred institutions.
Mira Sorvino, Dan Bakkedahl, Joseph Mazzello, Kevin Pollak, and Patrick Fischler will also recur in the series.

Underwood portrays Vernon Jordan. He is a business executive and civil rights activist who became a close adviser to Bill Clinton.
Sorvino is believed to be playing Marcia Lewis, Monica Lewinsky’s mom. The role reunites Sorvino with Murphy, with whom she worked on his recent Netflix series Hollywood.
Bakkedahl would portray Kenneth Starr, independent counsel during the Clinton presidency and author of the Starr Report, which alleged that Bill Clinton lied about the existence of an affair with Lewinsky during a sworn deposition, an allegation that led to Clinton’s impeachment.
Mazzello plays Paul Begala, adviser to Bill Clinton during his presidency.
Pollak is Bernie Nussbaum, who served as White House counsel under President Bill Clinton.

Fischler portrays Sidney Blumenthal, aide to President Bill Clinton and long-time confidante of Hillary Clinton.
Uppendahl is also executive producing. and will serve as EP with Uppendahl, Murphy, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Brad Falchuk, Larry Karaszewski, Scott Alexander, Alexis Martin Woodall, and Sarah Paulson. Lewinsky, Feldstein, Henrietta Conrad and Jemima Khan are producing.
Impeachment: American Crime Story is set to premiere on September 7, 2021.
