AMC unveiled an exciting first look at season 2 of the TV adaptation of Anne Rice’s iconic novel, “Interview With the Vampire,” during New York Comic Con. The spotlight was on Delainey Hayles, who is taking on the role of Claudia, the teenage vampire, previously portrayed by Bailey Bass in season 1.

In the sneak peek scene, Louis de Pointe du Lac (played by Jacob Anderson) and the new Claudia, Delainey Hayles, find themselves at an estate under the guidance of Santiago (Ben Daniels), the leading vampire figure at the Theatre des Vampires. As their vampire coven takes over the mansion and indulges in a gruesome feast on the humans within, Claudia appears to revel in the bloodbath. However, outside, Santiago and Louis engage in a tense conversation that hints at underlying suspicions, particularly when the name Lestat (Sam Reid) is mentioned.

After Bailey Bass’s portrayal of Claudia in season 1, she exited the series due to unforeseen circumstances, as she announced on Instagram, stating, “Playing Claudia has been a dream role and an incredible ride. I wish Delainey Hayles the best of luck in taking over. I cannot wait to watch.”

AMC praised Bass as a “talented actor who did a remarkable job” in the role of Claudia and expressed their gratitude for her unforgettable performance in season 1.

Returning cast members include Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac, Sam Reid as Lestat, and Ben Daniels as Santiago. The crew is led by award-winning producer Mark Johnson and showrunner Rolin Jones, with Mark Taylor, Christopher Rice, and the late Anne Rice contributing to production.

“Interview With the Vampire” is based on Anne Rice’s 1976 novel and originally led to a 1994 movie. The series follows the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac as he recounts his life with his maker Lestat de Lioncourt and teenage vampire Claudia to journalist Daniel Molloy. The show’s first season was well-received, leading to a second season set to premiere in 2024.
