Jamie Foxx, Robert De Niro, and Scott Eastwood are stepping into dangerous territory in Tin Soldier, an upcoming action thriller that’s just been acquired by Samuel Goldwyn Films for North American distribution. John Leguizamo, Shamier Anderson, Rita Ora, Nora Arnezeder, Saïd Taghmaoui, Joey Bicicchi round out the cast.
Directed by The Lincoln Lawyer’s Brad Furman — who also co-wrote the script with Jess Fuerst — Tin Soldier is set for release later this year. The film comes from Unified Pictures and Current Entertainment, with WME Independent handling international sales.
In Tin Soldier, Foxx stars as a magnetic cult leader known as the Bokushi, who’s been building a secretive army of ex-military men by offering them a new sense of purpose. But when things spiral out of control, the government turns to one of his former disciples, Nash Cavanaugh (Eastwood), to infiltrate the cult’s impenetrable stronghold. Recruited by government agent Emmanuel Ashburn (De Niro), Cavanaugh is out for revenge — and the Bokushi may not see it coming.
Behind the scenes, the thriller is produced by Furman and Fuerst, along with Steven Chasman and Keith Kjarval. Miles Fineburg negotiated the North American rights for Samuel Goldwyn Films, while CAA Media Finance repped the producers in the deal.
