Jasmine Cephas Jones Among Leads Set for Off-Broadway’s ‘2:22 — A Ghost Story’ New York Premiere

Emmy and Grammy winner Jasmine Cephas Jones among one of the leads of the New York premiere of 2:22 — A Ghost Story, the Olivier Award-nominated stage thriller heading to Off-Broadway’s Lucille Lortel Theatre this fall.

Joining Cephas Jones are Anna Camp (True Blood, Pitch Perfect), Finn Jones (Marvel’s Iron Fist, Game of Thrones) in his New York stage debut, and West End stage star Martin Marquez (Billy Elliot The Musical, Hotel Babylon). Camp will play Lauren, Cephas Jones will portray Jenny, Jones is Sam and Marquez will play Ben.

Previews begin October 20, with an official opening night of November 5 for a strictly limited 13-week engagement through January 17, 2027.

Written by Danny Robins, creator of the hit BBC podcast The Battersea Poltergeist, the play follows Jenny, who believes her new home is haunted, while her husband Sam isn’t having any of it. When their friends Lauren and Ben come around for a housewarming dinner, a debate erupts over whether the dead can really walk again. Beneath the argument, something strange and frightening draws closer, and the four agree to stay up until 2:22 to dare discover the truth.

2:22 — A Ghost Story premiered in London’s West End in 2021, where it broke all box office records for a new play at the Noel Coward Theatre, received an Olivier Award nomination and won the WhatsOnStage Award for Best Play. The production has since played seven West End engagements, two record-breaking UK tours and more than 30 productions worldwide, featuring actors including Lily Allen, Tom Felton, Sophia Bush and Stephanie Beatriz.

Matthew Dunster and Gabriel Vega Weissman direct. The creative team includes set design by Anna Fleischle, costume design by Cindy Lin, lighting design by Lucy Carter, sound design by Ian Dickinson for Autograph Sound and illusions by Chris Fisher. Casting is by Caparelliotis Casting, with Wagner Johnson Productions serving as general manager.

The production is produced by Tristan Baker and Charlie Parsons for Runaway Entertainment, Isobel David and Kater Gordon, by special arrangement with the Lucille Lortel Theatre.
