It’s official: the iconic Jurassic franchise is roaring back to life with a fresh twist. Next summer, Universal Pictures will unveil Jurassic World Rebirth, which comes three years after the conclusion of the Jurassic World trilogy, which saw each of its films gross over $1 billion at the global box office. This latest installment in the dinosaur saga will explore the limits of human ambition, survival, and the untamed wonders of a world where dinosaurs still exist in isolated equatorial habitats.

Directed by Gareth Edwards, known for his work on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and written by David Koepp, the original screenwriter of Jurassic Park, Jurassic World Rebirth will see a team of specialists — portrayed by Mahershala Ali, Scarlett Johansson, and Jonathan Bailey — embark on a high-stakes mission unlike any before. Johansson stars as Zora Bennett, a covert operations expert tasked with leading her team on a secretive quest: to secure genetic material from the three most massive dinosaurs on the planet. The mission is fueled by the promise of a medical breakthrough—harnessing the dinosaurs’ unique DNA to develop life-saving drugs.

Ali joins Johansson as Duncan Kincaid, her trusted team leader, while Bailey portrays Dr. Henry Loomis, a paleontologist whose expertise becomes crucial in navigating this treacherous world. Together, they must face not just the dangers of these colossal creatures but also the hidden agendas of those who seek to exploit them.

The film also stars Rupert Friend as Martin Krebs, a Big Pharma representative with his own interests at heart, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Reuben Delgado, the father of a civilian family who inadvertently gets caught up in the mission when their boat is capsized by aquatic dinosaurs. Stranded on a mysterious island, the team discovers a sinister secret that has been kept from the world for decades, setting the stage for a dramatic confrontation between man, nature, and the darker sides of scientific progress.

Joining the ensemble cast are Luna Blaise (Manifest), David Iacono (The Summer I Turned Pretty), and Audrina Miranda (Lopez vs. Lopez) as Delgado’s family, adding an emotional layer to the story of survival. The supporting cast is rounded out by Bechir Sylvain (BMF), Philippine Velge (Station Eleven), and Ed Skrein (Deadpool) as members of Zora and Krebs’ teams.Produced by Oscar nominee Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, both veterans of the Jurassic franchise, Jurassic World Rebirth continues the legacy of blockbuster filmmaking under the executive production of Steven Spielberg, Denis L. Stewart, and Jim Spencer. With its mix of cutting-edge visual effects, compelling storytelling, and a dynamic ensemble cast, Jurassic World Rebirth aims to recapture the thrill of the original while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the Jurassic universe.

As audiences prepare for the next chapter in this thrilling saga, one thing is clear: the allure of dinosaurs—those magnificent and fearsome giants of the past—remains as potent as ever. With Jurassic World Rebirth, the franchise not only seeks to entertain but also to explore the moral and ethical complexities of playing with nature’s most dangerous toys.

Jurassic World Rebirth is set to hit theaters next summer, and if the legacy of its predecessors is any indication, it’s a journey you won’t want to miss.
