Michael James Shaw, Tiana Okoye Join 'Twisted Metal' Season 2

Peacock’s hit series ‘Twisted Metal’ is revving up for Season 2 with a slew of new cast additions. Michael James Shaw (‘The Walking Dead’) will join the series in a recurring role, while Tiana Okoye (‘The Good Place’) will recur as a guest star.

Production for Season 2 is currently underway, with new faces joining the ensemble, including Saylor Bell Curda (‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’) and Lisa Gilroy (‘Interior Chinatown’) in recurring roles. Richard de Klerk (‘A Teenage Prophet,’) and Patty Guggenheim (‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’) also joins the cast in recurring guest roles alongside Anthony Carrigan (‘Barry’), who steps in as a series regular.

The newcomers will star alongside returning leads Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz. Fans can also expect to see familiar faces like Joe Seanoa and Will Arnett, both reprising their roles from Season 1.

Based on the classic PlayStation game series, ‘Twisted Metal’ is a half-hour action-comedy that follows John Doe (Mackie), a fast-talking outsider tasked with delivering a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Accompanied by a fierce, axe-wielding car thief named Quiet (Beatriz), Doe faces an array of threats, including marauding gangs in armed vehicles and a maniacal clown in an iconic ice cream truck driven by Sweet Tooth (Seanoa with Arnett providing the voice).

Anthony Carrigan is set to play Calypso, a key character from the ‘Twisted Metal’ games, known as the enigmatic and charismatic host of a dangerous demolition derby tournament. Calypso lures assassins, vigilantes, and joyriders to compete for a chance to have their deepest wishes granted—with a sinister twist.

Details on the other cast roles have yet to be revealed.

‘Twisted Metal’ is executive produced by Anthony Mackie through his Make It With Gravy Productions, with showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith, Will Arnett, and Marc Forman of Electric Avenue, Jason Spire for Inspire Entertainment, and Peter Principato for Artists First. Additional executive producers include Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan from PlayStation Productions, and Hermen Hulst, Head of PlayStation Studios. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.

Stay tuned for more updates as ‘Twisted Metal’ Season 2 races closer to its premiere on Peacock.
