Lashana Lynch has landed a starring role in The Day of the Jackal TV series adaptation for Peacock and Sky.

Joining Eddie Redmayne, Lynch will bring her talent to the screen in this bold and modern reimagining of Frederick Forsyth’s celebrated novel, which was previously adapted into a hit film in 1973.

Per the official logline, the series “is a bold, modern reimagining of the beloved and respected novel and film. This contemporary drama will stay true to the DNA of the original story while delving deeper into the chameleon like ‘anti-hero’ at the heart of the story in a high octane, cinematic, globetrotting ‘cat and mouse’ thriller, set amidst the turbulent geo-political landscape of our time.”

Redmayne will portray the notorious assassin known as The Jackal, while Lynch takes on the role of Bianca, a determined law enforcement agent hot on his trail.

“The Day of the Jackal” is a collaboration between Universal International Studios, Carnival Films, and Sky Studios. Ronan Bennett is handling the adaptation, while Brian Kirk is set to direct. Executive producers include Gareth Neame, Nigel Marchant, and Eddie Redmayne, with Lynch serving as co-executive producer. The series will be available on Peacock in the US and on Sky in multiple countries, with international distribution handled by NBCUniversal Global Distribution. Production is slated to begin later this year.

Lynch’s impressive filmography includes notable roles opposite Viola Davis in “The Woman King” and alongside Daniel Craig in the James Bond film “No Time to Die.” She has also made her mark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Maria Rambeau. On the small screen, Lynch has showcased her talent in shows like “Still Star-Crossed” and “Death in Paradise.”
