Tamar Braxton, Cush Jumbo, Riele Downs, Kenya Moore and More Star in Lifetime’s Upcoming Slate of Movies

Lifetime announced its upcoming January and February slate which kicks off with the Ripped from the Headlines movie, “Girl in the Video,” starring Cush Jumbo and Tia May Watts.

This project is apart of Lifetime’s January and February movie slate. Other projects airing are there’s “Dying in Plain Sight” starring Raffa Virago and Nicola Correia-Damude which debuts on January 20. “Confessions of a Cam Girl” featuring Megan Best, Camille Sullivan, and Josh Bogert will air on January 27. The co-production premiere “A Mother’s Intuition” starring Denise Boutte, Matt Cedeño, Brely Evans, and Tamar Braxton is set to air on February 3. And Riele Downs and Kenya Moore headline “Abducted Off The Street: The Carlesha Gaither Story,” premiering on February 10.

Inspired by real events explores the dark underworld of catfishing and exploitive videos on the dark web, Girl in the Video” is set to premiere Saturday, January 13th.

“Girl in the Video” examines the story of widowed mother Mo (Cush Jumbo) who is managing parenting two teens the best she can. Her daughter Krissy (Tia May Watts) has begun secretly chatting online with Toby, whom she believes is a cute high school senior, and Krissy sneaks out one night to meet him at a party. When Mo discovers she’s missing the next morning, Mo and her son Robbie start an all-out search for her and alert local detectives. As the case garners media attention, an anonymous tip reveals Krissy is being held captive and exploited in sexually abusive live streams for money on the dark web. Racing to find Krissy before she is murdered, Mo and Robbie track down every clue they can to try to bring Krissy home.

“Girl in the Video” is the latest movie in Lifetime’s successful “Girl In” franchise which included “Girl in the Closet,” “Girl in Rom 13,” “Girl in the Basement,” “Girl in the Shed,” “Girl in the Box,” and “Girl in the Bunker” among others.

Neil Rawles directed and Matthew Broughton penned Girl in the Video which is produced by ITN Productions for Lifetime. Ian Russell serves as executive producer.

“Dying in Plain Sight” starring Raffa Virago and Nicola Correia-Damude premieres January 20.

Inspired by true events, “Dying in Plain Sight” tells the emotional story of overweight high school student Morgan Cruz (Virago) and her mother Kim (Correia-Damude) who both harbor dark secrets that lead to devastating circumstances. When Kim leaves her cheating husband, she becomes so focused on “clean eating” that she doesn’t notice Morgan has stopped eating altogether. While Morgan receives positive validation for her changing body, privately she begins to experience the terrible side effects of her disorder. Morgan’s cries for help seem to fall on deaf ears until she’s hospitalized for life-threatening malnutrition, leading Kim to finally realize how her own disordered eating was a terrible influence on Morgan, pushing her to the brink of death.

“Dying in Plain Sight” is produced for Lifetime by Neshama Entertainment in association with MarVista Entertainment. Larry Grimaldi, Hannah Pillemer, Fernando Szew, Julianna Hays, and Bonnie Zipursky executive produce for MarVista. Arnie Zipursky, Dayna Zipursky, and Suzanne Berger executive produce for Neshama. “Confessions of a Cam Girl” starring Megan Best, Camille Sullivan, and Josh Bogert premieres January 27.

Inspired by real stories, “Confessions of a Cam Girl” follows the eighteen-year-old fashion savant Kristen (Best) who is set to become the first in her family to graduate college. Her working-class parents are furious when she reveals a plan to attend fashion school instead of college. Her parents refuse to use her college fund for her farfetched dream. Determined to pay for it herself, Kristen secretly creates an online explicit content page to raise $10,000 for dream program. Confident that she can keep her side hustle under wraps, Kristen’s secret unravels and threatens not just her future but the safety of her family as well.

“Confessions of a Cam Girl” is produced by Sepia Films for Lifetime. Sheri Singer serves as executive producer. Siobhan Devine directs from a script written by Miriam van Emst.

Denise Boutee, Matt Cedeño, Brely Evans, and Tamar Braxton are starring in Lifetime’s A Mother’s Intuition. It premieres on Saturday, February 3rd

Co-produced by the aforementioned, A Mother’s Intuition centers on the story of a new mom who searches for the truth of her missing newborn and uncovers more than she could have ever imagined.

“Abducted Off The Street: The Carlesha Gaither Story” starring Riele Downs and Kenya Moore premieres February 10.

Based on a true story, “Abducted Off The Street: The Carlesha Gaither Story” chronicles the abduction of a Philadelphia nurse’s aide at the hands of a homicidal predator and reveals how she fought to survive and created a trail that would ultimately lead to her rescue.

Carlesha (Downs) was walking home from a family gathering when she is forced into a car at knifepoint. Determined to survive and outsmart her captor, Carlesha leaves clues behind at every opportunity. Meanwhile, Carlesha’s mother, Keisha (Moore) stops at nothing to find her, making an impassioned plea

The film is produced by Cineflix Productions for Lifetime. Katie Boland directs from a script written by Amani Walker. Jeff Vanderwal, Sherri Rufh and J.C. Mills are the executive producers.
