lupin part 3 trailer

Netflix has unveiled the official Lupin Part 3 trailer. The series, led by Omar Sy in the title role, is set to premiere its third part on October 3. Louis Leterrier, known for directing the “Fast and Furious” franchise, returns as the director for Part 3, which comes more than two years after Part 2 premiered in June 2021.

During the production of Part 3, shooting was briefly halted last year due to a robbery on set, where approximately 20 people stole around €300,000 ($333,000) worth of equipment. This incident caused a delay in the release.

According to Netflix’s logline, in Part 3, Assane must live in hiding, away from his wife and son. Overwhelmed by the suffering they endure because of him, Assane decides to return to Paris and make an audacious proposal: to leave France and start a new life elsewhere. However, the ghosts of the past and an unexpected return will disrupt his plans.

Lupin follows professional thief Assane Diop, played by Omar Sy, as he seeks revenge against the Pellegrini family, who framed his father for theft and led to his father’s suicide. Assane uses his charisma, thievery skills, and disguises inspired by the legendary gentleman thief Arsène Lupin to expose Hubert Pellegrini’s crimes.

The series also stars Ludivine Sagnier, Antoine Gouy, Soufiane Guerrab, and Shirine Boutella. Lupin is co-created by George Kay and François Uzan for Netflix and Gaumont Télévision, with direction by Ludovic Bernard, Podz, and Xavier Gens.

Based on the iconic novels by Maurice LeBlanc, Lupin is a contemporary adaptation that has gained global popularity. Part 1 of the series was watched by over 70 million households in its first 28 days on Netflix, making it a hit for the streaming platform. Omar Sy also served as a creative producer on select episodes of the show.
