Malcolm-Jamal Warner (The Resident), is set to make a guest appearance in a few upcoming episodes of the hit drama series ‘9-1-1’. Warner will portray Amir, a nurse in a hospital burn unit with connections to Captain Bobby Nash’s past.
The seventh season of ‘9-1-1’ on ABC has been a hit, drawing in 11.76 million total viewers within its first seven days and becoming the network’s most-watched current series across all platforms this season. Created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear, the show stars Angela Bassett as Athena Grant, Peter Krause as Bobby Nash, Kenneth Choi as Howie “Chimney” Han, Aisha Hinds as Henrietta “Hen” Wilson, Ryan Guzman as Eddie Diaz and Gavin McHugh as Christopher Diaz, Jennifer Love Hewitt as Maddie Buckley, Oliver Stark as Evan “Buck” Buckley.

The current season has seen the characters face various challenges and personal growth. Notably, Captain Bobby Nash and his wife Athena Grant navigated through a rough patch during their honeymoon cruise, leading to deeper conversations about their relationship.
Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, John J. Gray, Brad Buecker, Kristen Reidel, Juan Carlos Coto and Lyndsey Beaulieu also serve as executive producers. Warner is no stranger to scrubs, having previously portrayed Dr. AJ Austin, a star cardiothoracic surgeon, in Fox’s The Resident. He also starred in Accused, Sneaky Pete, Suits, Major Crimes, Community, Sherri, the UPN sitcom Malcolm & Eddie, The Magic School Bus (voicing The Producer) and The Cosby Show.
