Marvel Drops First Teaser for Animated Black Panther Spin-Off 'Eyes of Wakanda' [VIDEO]

Marvel Studios has officially unveiled the first look at Eyes of Wakanda, a highly anticipated Black Panther animated spin-off series. The 30-second teaser showcases striking visuals and introduces a new chapter in Wakanda’s legacy—one centered around the Hatut Zeraze, the nation’s elite covert operatives tasked with retrieving stolen Vibranium across time and continents.

Premiering August 27 on Disney+, the animated series features an impressive voice cast including Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, Patricia Belcher, Larry Herron, Lynn Whitfield, Jacques Colimon, Isaac Robinson-Smith, Gary Anthony Williams, Steve Toussaint, and Anika Noni Rose.

In Eyes of Wakanda, each episode follows warriors as they track down dangerous Vibranium artifacts that have fallen into enemy hands. And while T’Challa and the mantle of Black Panther loom large over the franchise, Harris has been clear: this series isn’t solely about the Panther. It’s about Wakanda—its people, its history, and its discipline.

Todd Harris—Black Panther storyboard artist turned showrunner and director—leads the creative team. He previously teased that Eyes of Wakanda would be “Wakanda-grade James Bond, and sometimes a Jane Bond,” calling it a historical spy-espionage thriller that begins during the Western Bronze Age and reverberates through time.

“You get a sense of what kind of person Wakanda makes,” Harris shared in a past interview. “A 10,000-year-old society. What kind of fortitude, what kind of rock-solid principles does that produce? That’s what we’re exploring.”

Though technically “anthology-adjacent,” the show maintains a continuous narrative that will tie into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. And yes—an Iron Fist is confirmed to appear, but it won’t be Danny Rand.

Executive producers include Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Sev Ohanian, Kalia King, Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, and Harris himself.

This is Marvel Animation’s latest foray into the world of Wakanda, and it comes with higher stakes—and a tighter rollout—than previous efforts like Ironheart, which received its first trailer just weeks before its premiere. Hopefully, this sneak peek is only the beginning. With San Diego Comic-Con around the corner, a longer trailer might be on the horizon.
