Marvel Drops New ‘Ironheart’ Trailer Highlighting Riri Williams’ Magic-Science Hybrid Suit and AI N.A.T.A.L.I.E.

Marvel’s Ironheart is finally picking up steam.

With just two weeks to go before its debut, Marvel Studios has released a brand-new trailer for Ironheart, offering a more in-depth look at Riri Williams’ solo journey—and the powerful fusion of science and magic that sets her apart from the late Tony Stark.

Dominique Thorne reprises her role as the young genius from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, now back home in Chicago and building her next chapter—literally. This time around, her suit is powered not just by tech, but by something a bit more mystical. The trailer gives a first glimpse at how Riri is mixing STEM with sorcery to build her next-level armor.

Also introduced is her AI companion, N.A.T.A.L.I.E.—based on her childhood friend Natalie Washington, who was tragically killed in a drive-by. Longtime comic fans will recognize N.A.T.A.L.I.E. as a major evolution from the Tony Stark-based AI that guided Riri in earlier storylines. But this version skips the Iron Man nostalgia and goes straight to the heart.

“She’s dumpster-diving, whereas Tony Stark was this bajillionaire,” Thorne shared in a recent interview. “What she’s able to accomplish is remarkable.”

The six-episode series kicks off with an unusual three-episode premiere, signaling that Marvel Television is looking to make a splash—quickly.

Enter: The Hood

Riri’s biggest challenge might not be tech-related at all. Anthony Ramos steps in as Parker Robbins, aka The Hood, a street-level antagonist rumored to be tapping into magic from a source far darker than anyone anticipated. While early theories pointed to Mephisto, insiders now say Dormammu is the real puppet master—a claim seemingly backed by leaked concept art.

In the trailer, Robbins gives serious “charming menace” energy, teasing a grounded but dangerous presence that plays opposite Riri’s calculated genius.

From Wakanda to Chicago

Set after Wakanda Forever, the series sees Riri return to her roots in Chicago, trying to carve out her place while carrying the weight of her past and the possibilities of her future. She’s not just building suits—she’s building legacy.

“We’re not necessarily going back in time,” Thorne says. “It’s more of catching up and seeing the effects of those first pivotal moments of her life… and the person that she’s trying to become.”

Alongside Thorne and Ramos, the cast includes Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam, and Anji White.

A Blend of Street-Level and Supernatural

Ryan Coogler returns as executive producer through his Proximity Media banner and says the series was always meant to bridge two Marvel worlds: the gritty street-level realism of Daredevil and the otherworldly strangeness of Doctor Strange.

“You’ve got characters—both heroes and villains—trying to make do with what they have,” Coogler told Marvel.com. “That mix of street-level Marvel and magical Marvel is a pretty crazy combination.”

Ironheart is executive produced by Chinaka Hodge (also head writer), Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Zoie Nagelhout, Ryan Coogler, Sev Ohanian, and Zinzi Coogler. Episodes are directed by Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes.

Marvel’s Ironheart premieres with three episodes on June 24, 2025 at 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET, only on Disney+.
