The untitled Elizabeth Banks-led Apple TV+ comedy series is filling out its recurring cast. Michelle Buteau, Hamish Linklater and Simu Liu have all come aboard, joining previously announced series regulars Ted Danson, Katey Sagal, Rob Delaney, Jared Goldstein and Spencer Moss.

From creators Liz Heldens and Matt Ward, the series follows Heidi, played by Banks, who is fresh off a messy divorce and sets out to secure a lively second act for herself and her kids. When she stumbles into coordinating her father’s retirement community romantic life, she is forced into an unlikely alliance with his girlfriend’s perpetually single son.

Linklater, known for Widow’s Bay and Manhunt, will play Evan, Heidi’s ex-husband. Buteau, known for Survival of the Thickest, will play Melissa, a talented ad executive. Liu, known for Shang-Chi and Barbie, will play Dr. Zhou, a doctor who treats Heidi’s son.

The series is produced for Apple TV+ by 20th Television. Heldens and Ward serve as showrunners and executive producers. Banks executive produces alongside Max Handelman and Krissy Wall through her Brownstone Productions banner. Jonathan Krisel will direct the pilot and executive produce. Quinn Haberman, Jason Winer and Jon Radler also executive produce. The series shoots in Los Angeles later this year.
