Monique Coleman and Melyssa Ford Fight for Survival in Lifetime’s ‘Trapped in the Spotlight’

Lifetime is rolling out an electrifying weekend slate of thrillers, kicking off with Trapped in the Spotlight on Saturday, February 15, at 8p/7c. The film stars Monique Coleman (Greed: A Seven Deadly Sins Saga; High School Musical) and Melyssa Ford (Hunting Housewives; Love & Hip Hop Hollywood), with Coleman also making her debut as an executive producer.

In Trapped in the Spotlight, Coleman plays Neveah, an R&B singer whose career crumbled after a public betrayal by her former music partner Lupita, played by Ford. Fifteen years later, both women are kidnapped by a deranged producer who demands they finish their long-abandoned album—or else. Forced to face old wounds, they must decide if they can trust each other again to survive. Emmanuel Kabongo and Romaine Waite round out the cast.

Directed by Nicole G. Leier and written by Rene Rodriguez-Lopez, Derick Ackerley, Alberto Halfeld, and Jag Gill, Trapped in the Spotlight is produced by Candour Pictures in association with Vortex Media for Lifetime. Executive producers include Coleman, Rebecca Lamarche, Myles Milne, Jesse Ikeman, Bill Marks, Justin Rebelo, Nicole G. Leier, and Brendan Uegama.

But the suspense doesn’t stop there—Lifetime has a packed lineup of back-to-back thrillers premiering over the next few weekends:

  • Saturday, February 22: My Amish Double Life stars Lexi Minetree (Law & Order: SVU; The Paramedic Who Stalked Me) and Rachel Coopes (Chicago P.D.; Phoenix) as Amish girls who secretly explore the “forbidden world”—only to stumble into a murder that puts their entire community at risk.
  • Sunday, March 2: Abducted in the Everglades features Tori Spelling (90210; Dancing with the Stars) as Beverly, a desperate mother searching for her missing daughter in the vast, unforgiving Florida Everglades. She teams up with a rugged boatman in a high-stakes race against time.

Lifetime continues to deliver intense, character-driven dramas that keep audiences on the edge of their seats. With Coleman stepping into a producer role and Ford bringing her signature presence to the screen, Trapped in the Spotlight is shaping up to be a standout addition to the network’s signature lineup of thrillers. Will Neveah and Lupita make it out alive? Tune in February 15 to find out.
