Morgan Freeman, Chinaza Uche and Celeste O’Conner are starring in A Good Person for MGM. Florence Pugh, Zoe Lister-Jones, and Molly Shannon are also cast.
A Good Person centers on Allison (Pugh), whose life falls apart following her involvement in a fatal accident. In the ensuing years, it is the unlikely relationship she forms with her would-be father-in-law (Freeman) that helps her inevitably live a life worth living.
Uche will play Nathan, who has contended with much childhood abuse in the past and faces a tragic loss in the present, trying to move on to create a new life for himself in Manhattan.
O’Connor plays Ryan, a star high-school soccer player who grapples with finding her own way back to normalcy after her world is flipped upside down by the same accident.
Lister-Jones will play Simone in the movie, a hardened veteran of AA, but an earthy, good soul. She’s seen everything and overcome addiction and depression herself. She’s a tough gal, street-smart, tattooed, loving but doesn’t take crap from anyone. She has a partner and a two-year-old baby.
Zach Braff penned the feature and is directing it, which reunites Braff with Freeman who starred in Braff’s 2017 comedy, Going in Style.
