Morris Chestnut, DomiNque Perry, Claudia Logan, and Bryan Terrell Clark have joined Diarra Kilpatrick in the highly anticipated BET+ series “Diarra from Detroit.”
The original dark comedy, created by Kilpatrick, is set to premiere on BET+ later this year as part of her exclusive overall deal with BET Studios.
“Diarra from Detroit” follows the story of Diarra Brickland, played by Kilpatrick, a schoolteacher going through a divorce who refuses to accept that she has been ghosted by her rebound Tinder date. Her relentless search for the missing man leads her deep into a long-standing mystery involving the Detroit underworld. Along the way, her co-workers, friends, and lovers become unlikely allies as she embarks on a dangerous journey.
The character descriptions for the newly announced cast members are being kept under wraps for now. Morris Chestnut brings his talent to the series as Swa. DomiNque Perry takes on the role of Aja. Claudia Logan joins the cast as Moni, and Terrell Clark portrays Mr. Tea.
“Diarra from Detroit” is produced by BET Studios and Khalabo Ink Society, with Kilpatrick serving as the creator and executive producer alongside Kenya Barris for Khalabo Ink Society and Miles Orion Feldsott. Erynn Sampson oversees the project as a producer for Khalabo Ink Society.
