MY ANIMAL TRAILER

My Animal, an upcoming queer horror movie starring Amandla Stenberg and Bobbi Salvör Menuez, is set to hit theaters on September 8, with a digital release following on September 15, according to an announcement by Paramount.

Directed by Jacqueline Castel, “My Animal” is a genre-bending supernatural love story. Tormented by a hidden family curse, Heather (Menuez) is forced to live a secluded life on the outskirts of a small town. When she falls for the rebellious Jonny (Stenberg) , their connection threatens to unravel Heather’s suppressed desires, tempting her to unleash the animal within. The story unfolds against a backdrop of challenges, including Heather’s struggle with her sexual orientation, her alcoholic mother, and a family curse that turns her into a feral wolf under the full moon.

Written by Jae Matthews, the film also stars Heidi von Palleske, Cory Lipman, Charlie & Harrison Halpenny, Joe Apollonio, Scott Thompson, Dean McDermott, and Stephen McHattie.

The film’s official trailer, released recently, offers a glimpse into the blend of horror and romance that defines this unique take on the werewolf genre. The film explores themes of sexuality, alcoholism, and personal transformation, taking the werewolf concept beyond traditional horror boundaries. With an “R” rating for its inclusion of language, sexual content, nudity, drug use, and violence, “My Animal” promises a provocative and gripping experience for audiences.

My Animal maks Stenberg’s latest venture into the horror genre following her leading role in A24’s Bodies, Bodies, Bodies. She will next be seen in Lucasfilm’s upcoming Star Wars series, The Acolyte.
