My Animal, an upcoming queer horror movie starring Amandla Stenberg and Bobbi Salvör Menuez, is set to hit theaters on September 8, with a digital release following on September 15, according to an announcement by Paramount.
Directed by Jacqueline Castel, “My Animal” is a genre-bending supernatural love story. Tormented by a hidden family curse, Heather (Menuez) is forced to live a secluded life on the outskirts of a small town. When she falls for the rebellious Jonny (Stenberg) , their connection threatens to unravel Heather’s suppressed desires, tempting her to unleash the animal within. The story unfolds against a backdrop of challenges, including Heather’s struggle with her sexual orientation, her alcoholic mother, and a family curse that turns her into a feral wolf under the full moon.
