Natasha Rothwell is ending out the year, family style. The actress, known for her fan-favorite portrayal of Kelly in Issa Rae’s ‘Insecure’ and recent roles in ‘The White Lotus’ and the ‘Sonic’ franchise, is set to grace the screen in the upcoming family films ‘Wish’ and ‘Wonka.’

The First project she has up is Disney’s original musical comedy, Wish, which is set to grace U.S. theaters on November 22nd. Set in the captivating kingdom of Rosas, “Wish” introduces us to Asha, a sharp-witted idealist, voiced by Ariana DeBose. Asha is a spirited young woman who holds her family and community close to her heart. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she uncovers King Magnifico’s true intentions regarding the wishes entrusted to him.
Natasha Rothwell steps into the role of Sakina, Asha’s loving and supportive mother, who recognizes her daughter’s passion and concerns for her well-being.
Directed by Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn, “Wish” boasts a stellar voice cast, which also includes Angelique Cabral, Victor Garber, Chris Pine, and Alan Tudyk.

She’ll end the year with Wonka, which is set to hit theaters on December 15, 2023 and delves into the origin story of Willy Wonka.
