Nathalie Emmanuel Joins Omar Sy in The Killer Remake

THE KILLER REMAKE

Nathalie Emmanuel has been added to the cast of The Killer remake for Peacock. She will join in a leading role opposite previously cast Omar Sy. The movie is a reimagining of the 1989 crime drama by John Woo, who will also direct and produce the film.

The original film starred Chow Yun Fat and followed an assassin who takes one last job to earn enough money to restore the sight of a singer he blinded.

The details of the new version have yet to be revealed. However the screenplay was written by Matthew Stuecken and Josh Campbell, Eran Creevy, and Brian Helgeland.

The Killer is one of three original films from Universal Pictures set to premiere on Peacock this year. Chuck Roven and Alex Gartner from Atlas Entertainment are producing the movie, while Universal Pictures’ Senior Vice President of Production Development Sara Scott and Creative Development Executive Jacqueline Garell will oversee the project on behalf of the studio.

Emmanuel is best known for her role as Missandei in Game of Thrones and her appearances in several Fast and Furious films as Ramsey. She is currently in production for Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis, alongside Adam Driver.

Omar Sy gained widespread recognition for his role in the 2011 comedy-drama The Intouchables and has appeared in X-Men: Days of Future Past and Jurassic World. His most recent role is in the French mystery thriller series Lupin.

The Killer remake is one of several exciting projects for Emmanuel, who recently starred in Screen Gems’ horror film The Invitation and will reprise her role in the upcoming sequel to Quibi’s Die Hart. The actress is represented by APA, A&J Artists in the UK, Untitled Entertainment, and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher, LLP.
