The two-hour live experience, blending music, storytelling, and Sphere’s cutting-edge technology, will run four performances over the weekend of April 2-4.
Oprah Winfrey is heading to the Las Vegas Sphere with an entirely new kind of production. Titled Aha, the two-hour immersive show will run four times over one weekend, April 2 through 4, 2027, with Winfrey appearing live on stage to introduce a lineup of performers including Grammy winner Jacob Collier, poet and author Ocean Vuong, musician Ajeet, and gospel singer Wintley Phipps, among others.
Described in the show’s announcement as a “journey of light, sound, music and storytelling,” Aha will make use of Sphere’s signature technology, including its wraparound high-resolution LED display and its concert-grade Sphere Immersive Sound system, to create what’s being billed as a fully immersive visual and musical environment.
Winfrey said the concept originated from her own experience inside the venue. “‘Aha’ is a dream that came to me as I sat in awe at the opening night of U2 at the Sphere,” she said, adding that the moment left her considering how the space could foster “greater awareness and understanding of ourselves and our connection to each other.” She called bringing the project to life “the culmination of what I’ve spoken about and worked towards my entire life.”
The show’s title carries personal significance for Winfrey, who popularized the phrase “aha moment” during her run as a daytime talk show host in the 1990s. Her influence on the term was significant enough that Merriam-Webster added it to the dictionary in 2012, defining it as a moment of sudden realization, insight, or comprehension.
Aha brings together a substantial creative team. Ethan Tobman directs, with production from Emmy-winning Silent House Group founder Baz Halpin. Oscar-nominated composer Max Richter serves as musical director, joined by Grammy-winning vocal director Jason White and Grammy-nominated producer Jon Hopkins. The script comes from Oscar winner Tarell Alvin McCraney (Moonlight), currently Artistic Director of the Geffen Playhouse, with original works contributed by stage designer Es Devlin and the Plum Village Monks.
The event is presented by Live Nation and executive produced by Winfrey alongside Jennifer Rudolph Walsh, Harpo Entertainment’s Tara McNally Montgomery, Fulwell Entertainment co-founder Ben Winston, social entrepreneur Andrew Maxwell Mangino, and Pinterest co-founder Evan Sharp serving as consulting producer.
Tickets start at $145 and go on sale September 25 at 10 a.m. PT.
Aha adds to a growing list of major residencies and events at the Sphere, which opened in 2023 with U2’s inaugural run and has since hosted acts including Phish, the Eagles, Kenny Chesney, Backstreet Boys, Carín León, Metallica, and Anyma. The venue has also branched into sports programming, hosting a UFC event in September 2024, and continues to run its popular 4D adaptation of The Wizard of Oz in partnership with Warner Bros.
