Pepi Sonuga to recur in Hulu’s limited series Pam & Tommy. She will star opposite Andrew Dice Clay, Lily James, Sebastian Stan, Nick Offerman, and Seth Rogen.
The series is based on the true story behind the release of the first-ever viral video in history — the sex tape of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee. Lily James and Sebastian Stan are cast as the title characters.
Sonuga will play Melanie, Pam’s best friend and wing-woman. Confident and strong, she becomes overprotective when bad-boy rock-star Tommy Lee takes a liking to her best friend.
Offerman is cast as in the “legendary prolific porn impresario” Uncle Miltie. He brings his larger-than-life stature into the workplace to keep things lively and real. As the money guy, Uncle Miltie helps “disgruntled electrician” Rand (Rogen) distribute the sex tape.
Clay will portray Butchie. A mob guy, but not a “Mob Guy,” Butchie’s malevolence is matter-of-fact and he’s tired of what you’ve said before you’ve finished saying it. He can’t stand clowns, but that’s who borrows money at loan-shark interest rates, so he controls himself when dealing with them. Until they fuck up.
The series is being written by Rob Siegel and directed by Craig Gillespie. Siegel and Gillespie will executive produce the series along with Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, and Alex McAtee for their Point Grey production company, James Franco, Dave Franco and Vince Jolivette via Ramona, Megan Ellison, Sue Naegle and Ali Krug for Anapurna and DV DeVincentis, Chip Vucelich, Dylan Sellers, and Sarah Gubbins.
Anderson and Lee are not involved in the Hulu limited series.
