Persia White Hints at a 'Girlfriends'...Something After Meeting with Kelsey Grammer [VIDEO]

In a recent social media update, actress Persia White dropped a tantalizing hint about a potential something of one of our favorite shows, ‘Girlfriends.’ White, who starred in the iconic series for eight years, posted a video from the Paramount Pictures lot where she had a meeting with executive producer Kelsey Grammer.

The video, captioned, “Hello Girlfriends! Just got out of a meeting with KELSEY GRAMMER on the Paramount Pictures lot! Good things are brewing❣️,” showed White strolling through the lot and pointing out Stage 23, the location where ‘Girlfriends’ was filmed. While the nature of the meeting was not disclosed, speculations are running high, especially given Kelsey Grammer’s recent success with the reboot of ‘Frasier,’ now renewed for its second season.

With the ‘Frasier’ reboot gaining momentum, Grammer could potentially leverage his influence to bring back ‘Girlfriends,’ whether in the form of a movie, reunion, or an entirely new season. While the possibilities remain open, fans are buzzing with excitement over the prospect of a revival.

Kelsey Grammer, who served as executive producer throughout the original run of ‘Girlfriends,’ has expressed interest in reviving the show before. In a previous Q&A with Deadline, he mentioned his eagerness to see a revival of the series, emphasizing the love for the characters and the desire to provide a proper conclusion, especially after the abrupt ending due to the Writers Guild of America strike.

During the interview, Grammer stated, “I would love to reboot ‘Girlfriends.’ Of course, it would probably be a different kind of show, but we got ‘The Game’ back on, and that was wonderful.” Despite the cancellation of ‘The Game’ on Paramount+, Grammer remains hopeful about the potential return of ‘Girlfriends.’

The original show, created by Mara Brock Akil, featured an ensemble cast including Tracee Ellis Ross, Golden Brooks, Persia White, and Jill Marie Jones. Airing for eight seasons from 2000 to 2008, ‘Girlfriends’ garnered a dedicated fan base and critical acclaim for its portrayal of four Black professionals navigating friendship and life in their early thirties.

As the conversation about a potential ‘Girlfriends’ reboot continues, fans eagerly await any official announcements or updates. Despite the passing of 15 years since the show concluded, the desire for closure and a proper send-off remains strong among both the cast and the audience. While no immediate plans for a ‘Girlfriends’ reboot are confirmed, the enthusiasm and support for the idea persist within the entertainment community.
