“Wizards Beyond Waverly Place,” the sequel to the Emmy® Award-winning “Wizards of Waverly Place,” will premiere on October 29 at 8:00 p.m. EDT on Disney Channel. The first two episodes will air on the network, with all eight episodes available the next day on Disney+ and Disney Channel On Demand.
Disney Channel alums Raven-Symoné and Danielle Fishel are set to direct episodes in the first season of the series. Raven-Symoné (‘Raven’ Franchise) and Danielle Fishel (‘Boy Meets World’ franchise) will bring their experience and directorial vision to the continuation of the beloved franchise.
The series follows an adult Justin Russo, portrayed by David Henrie, who has chosen to live a normal, mortal life with his wife, Giada (Mimi Gianopulos), and their children, Roman (Alkaio Thiele) and Milo (Max Matenko). When Justin’s sister Alex, played by Selena Gomez, brings Billie (Janice LeAnn Brown), a young wizard-in-training, to his home, Justin must revive his magical skills while managing his everyday responsibilities and protecting the future of the Wizard World.
The cast also includes Taylor Cora as Winter, and Mimi Gianopulos with Gomez guest starrring in the first episode to set the series up for its new wizardly storyline. Executive producers for the series include Jed Elinoff, Scott Thomas, Gary Marsh, Jonas Agin, Selena Gomez, and David Henrie, with Andy Fickman directing and executive-producing the pilot along with multiple episodes. “Wizards of Waverly Place” was originally created by Todd Greenwald.
Following the premiere, two new episodes, including a Halloween-themed special, will air on October 30 on Disney Channel. Starting November 8, episodes will premiere on Fridays at 8:00 p.m. EDT, with two episodes released weekly.
