Hulu and Onyx Collective’s hit drama Reasonable Doubt is officially returning for a second season, and it’s bringing in some fresh talent. Morris Chestnut is joining the show as a series regular.
Created and written by Raamla Mohamed, Reasonable Doubt follows Jax as she navigates a challenging murder case, all while dealing with personal struggles like a failing marriage and motherhood. The show boasts an impressive cast, including McKinley Freeman, Tim Jo, Angela Grovey, Aderinsola Olabode, and Thaddeus J. Mixson.

Chestnut will be playing Corey Cash, a smooth-talking lawyer with a knack for representing the underdogs. But when he’s brought in to assist high-powered defense attorney Jacqueline “Jax” Stewart (Emayatzy Corinealdi) on a new case, it quickly becomes clear that he may not be as skilled as he seems, and Jax’s position at the firm could be in jeopardy.
Executive produced by Mohamed, Kerry Washington, and Larry Wilmore, Reasonable Doubt is a production of Onyx Collective and ABC Signature, a division of Disney Television Studios. The show has been praised for its complex characters and gripping storylines, and fans are eagerly anticipating what the second season will bring.
For Chestnut, Reasonable Doubt is just the latest in a long line of impressive TV and film credits. In addition to his iconic roles in The Best Man and its sequels, he’s appeared in shows like American Horror Story, The Resident, and Goliath.
