Regé-Jean Page has secured a spot in Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming thriller, Black Bag, alongside Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett. The spy thriller, with a script by David Koepp, is set to start filming this spring after Focus Features acquired the project last month.

The Focus Feature project, secured in a competitive bidding battle, is scheduled to begin filming this spring. While plot details remain undisclosed, the film is described as a gripping spy thriller.

Black Bag reunites Soderbergh with Blanchett, a familiar collaborator from The Good German (2006) and Ocean’s 8 (2018). The film also marks a reunion with Fassbender, who worked with Soderbergh on Haywire in 2011. The thriller’s secrecy adds an air of anticipation, and fans can look forward to another milestone in Page’s evolving career.

Page, who gained global recognition for his portrayal of Simon Basset in Bridgerton, has been making waves in the film industry. Reflecting on his decision not to return for Bridgerton’s second season, he stated plainly, “I signed up to do a job and I did the job and then I did some other jobs. That’s it. That’s the story. I wish it was more glamorous than that.” This move signals his transition to a prominent film career, evident in his recent roles in Paramount’s Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and the Netflix action film The Gray Man.
