Netflix’s My Life With the Walter Boys is expanding its ensemble with the addition of Riele Downs (Darby and the Dead) in a recurring role for the upcoming second season. The show, a heartfelt coming-of-age drama based on Ali Novak’s novel, continues to explore themes of love, loss, and family as it delves deeper into the life of its young protagonist.
The story centers on Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez), a 15-year-old Manhattanite whose life is upended after losing her family in a tragic accident. Jackie trades her sophisticated New York lifestyle for rural Colorado, moving in with her guardian Katherine (Sarah Rafferty) and her husband George (Marc Blucas), who are raising ten kids of their own.

Season 2 continues Jackie’s journey of self-discovery and resilience as she navigates life in her new chaotic household. Determined to stay focused on her dream of attending Princeton, Jackie finds herself caught between feelings for two Walter brothers: Alex (Ashby Gentry), the responsible and scholarly sibling, and Cole (Noah LaLonde), the enigmatic rebel.
The series explores themes of identity, family, and romance as Jackie adjusts to her new life while tensions and emotions run high.
Season 2 brings additional new faces, including Natalie Sharp (Wilderness), Carson MacCormac (Shazam!), Janet Kidder (Star Trek: Discovery), and Jake Manley (The Order), all joining in recurring roles. The second season wrapped production in Canada and is set to premiere in 2025.

Returning cast members include Connor Stanhope, Johnny Link, Corey Fogelmanis, Jaylan Evans, Zoë Soul, Isaac Arellanes, Myles Perez, Alex Quijano, Ashley Tavares, Dean Petriw, Alix West Lefler, Lennix James, Alisha Newton, Ellie O’Brien, Kolton Stewart, Mya Lowe, Gabrielle Jacinto, Jesse Lipscombe, and Nathaniel Arcand.
The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television International Production and iGeneration Studios, with showrunner Melanie Halsall serving as executive producer alongside Ed Glauser and Becky Hartman Edwards. Jason Priestley returns to direct multiple episodes and serves as a producer for the upcoming season.
