Apple TV+ has tapped Rome Flynn, Ana Ortiz, and Sherri Saum for recurring roles in its upcoming limited series Imperfect Women, joining an already star-studded cast led by executive producers and stars Kerry Washington and Elisabeth Moss.
Based on Araminta Hall’s novel, Imperfect Women follows three women whose decades-long friendship is shattered by a crime. As the investigation unfolds, the series explores complex themes of guilt, retribution, love, betrayal, and the choices that irrevocably alter lives. The psychological thriller examines the delicate dynamics of female relationships and how even the closest connections can change over time.
Washington and Moss will be joined by Kate Mara as the third member of the core trio. Joel Kinnaman and Corey Stoll have also been cast in regular roles, further building out the compelling narrative. Ortiz will play Detective Ganz, while Saum will take on the role of Zoe, adding more depth to the unfolding mystery. Flynn will portray Jordan, Washington’s character’s love interest, bringing an extra layer of complexity to the story.
The series will be adapted for television by Annie Weisman, who previously worked with Apple TV+ on Physical. Weisman will serve as the showrunner and executive producer, continuing her collaboration with Apple. Produced by 20th Television and Apple Studios, Imperfect Women is set to provide a gripping, emotionally charged experience that challenges perspectives.
Washington, who is known for her work both in front of and behind the camera, has expressed excitement about the raw storytelling at the heart of Imperfect Women. Her production company, Simpson Street, along with Pilar Savone, will also executive produce the series.
As the project moves into production, Imperfect Women is shaping up to be a standout drama that explores the complexities of female friendships and the ripple effects of life-changing decisions. With a talented team both in front of and behind the camera, Apple TV+ is once again positioning itself as a leading force in premium original content.
