Rosario Dawson, Alexandra Shipp, and Milla Jovovich are set to star in the upcoming action thriller ‘Midnight’. Directed by Joshua Otis Miller, who is making his feature directorial debut, the film has recently wrapped production in Connecticut. The project is produced by Yale Productions and features a screenplay by Lamont Magee and Jeff Byrd.
‘Midnight’ centers on a young blind woman, portrayed by Shipp, who becomes the target of a group of international criminals led by Jovovich. The criminals believe she has received a valuable package from her sister, a federal agent played by Dawson. However, they soon discover that despite her blindness, the woman is far more formidable than they anticipated.
Dawson, who also serves as a producer on the film, expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Without giving away too much, ‘Midnight’ is an awesome action movie, revolving around duty and sacrifice. It’s about coming into your own and embracing your independence, but at its core, it’s a movie about family and that’s what really resonated with me. I’m so thrilled to be a part of such an incredible project with this spectacular cast and crew.”
The film’s production team is led by producers Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman of Yale Productions, alongside Leah Elizabeth Rucinski, Timothy Christian, Rab Butler of Night Fox Entertainment, David Gere, Chelsea Vale, and Beth Bryant. Michael Day served as a co-producer.
Executive producers include Rabbit Black’s Sean Krajewski, Ronnie Exley, Jeremy Ross, Lawrence Minicone, Shipp, Jovovich, Annabelle Mullen Pacheco, Francisco Cueto, Will Hirschfeld, Edmund Lowell, Declan Morgan, Scott Fink, Jeremy Rothstein, Josh Buchalter, Jason Kringstein, Scott Levenson, Russ Posternak, Kyle Fethke, Kurt Fethke, Andrea Iervolino, Luca Matrundola, Emanuele Moretti, Nicholas Donnermeyer, Ben Walter, Inna Walter, Jeffrey Tussi, Ram Getz, Michael Becker, and Michael Mortensen.
‘Midnight’ is set to make its market debut at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) next month, with Great Escape Films handling the sales.
Rosario Dawson is currently starring in Disney+’s ‘Ahsoka’, a spin-off of ‘The Mandalorian’. Her recent work also includes Disney’s ‘Haunted Mansion’ and Kevin Smith’s ‘Clerks III’. Alexandra Shipp, known for her roles in ‘Barbie’ and ‘Anyone But You’, will next be seen in the indie thriller ‘Violent Ends’. Milla Jovovich, famous for leading the ‘Resident Evil’ franchise, has recently completed work on ‘World-Breaker’ and will appear in ‘In the Lost Lands’.
