First Look: Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury in Secret Invasion [TRAILER]

Marvel Studios’ upcoming series Secret Invasion is based on the 2008 Marvel Comics storyline of the same name, follows Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) as they try to stop a radicalized faction of the Skrulls from infiltrating Earth and installing their own double agents in positions of power around the world. The Skrulls are a shape-shifting alien race that was first introduced in the MCU in Captain Marvel (2019).

Recently, Vanity Fair released a slew of new images from the series, giving fans a closer look at the returning MCU stars: Jackson, Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Talos, and Martin Freeman (Everett K. Ross). Additionally, the series will also introduce new characters played by Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, and Kingsley Ben-Adir, who will be playing Sonya Falsworth, G’iah, and Gravik, respectively.

Secret Invasion is expected to premiere on the Disney+ streaming platform June 21, 2023.

In addition to the previously mentioned cast members, Secret Invasion will also see the return of Don Cheadle’s James “Rhodey” Rhodes/War Machine, who will be taking on a different role in the series, serving as “the president’s right-hand man” instead of as an Avenger. Cheadle also confirmed that Secret Invasion will lay the groundwork for Armor Wars, an upcoming MCU movie that deals with Stark technology falling into the wrong hands.

Secret Invasion will be created by Kyle Bradstreet and feature an ensemble cast of actors. It will be produced by Marvel Studios and executive produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Jonathan Schwartz, Samuel L. Jackson, Ali Selim, Kyle Bradstreet, and Brian Tucker. The show is expected to be a mix of action-adventure, spy thriller, and superhero genres with a runtime of 40-50 minutes per episode. The show will be shot in England with cinematography by Sylvaine Dufaux and Remi Adefarasin and editing by James Stanger and Melissa Lawson Cheung. The composer for the show is Kris Bowers.
