Samuel L. Jackson is reprising his role as Nick Fury to lead Marvel’s upcoming series ‘Secret Invasion,’ due out on Disney+, spring 2023.
The series, which was announced at Disney Investor Day in December 2020, follows the team-up of Avengers Boss Fury (Jackson) with Captain Marvel‘s Talos (Ben Mendelsohn). Thomas Bezucha and Ali Selim will split directing the six episodes that centers on Fury returning to Earth to deal with a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years.
Mendelsohn’s Talos is the leader of a Skrull sect and an ally of Fury.
According to Jackson, Secret Invasion will delve deeper into Fury’s past and future and allowed him to “explore something other than the badassery of who Nick Fury is”.
Ben Mendelsohn, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emilia Clarke, Christopher McDonald, Carmen Ejogo, and Cobie Smulder will star in Secret Invasion. Don Cheadle will reprise his roles as James Rhodes as well as Martin Freeman as his character from Black Panther, Everett K. Ross.
Smulders is portraying Maria Hill, a former high-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who works closely with Fury but has been out of contact with him. Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross: An agent of the Central Intelligence Agency.
Emilia Clarke is cast as G’iah / Gloria Warner. Kingsley Ben-Adir as Gravik and Killian Scott as Fiz. Olivia Colman will portray Sonya Falsworth with Dermot Mulroney expected to appear as United States President Ritson.
Additionally, Christopher McDonald and Carmen Ejogo have been cast in undisclosed roles.
