Production got underway this week on Golf Trip, a new ensemble comedy from Live Nation Studios, Hartbeat, and All Things Comedy, starring Sinqua Walls alongside comedians Tom Segura, Andrew Santino, and Timothy Simons, plus Heather Graham and John Stamos.
The film follows three best friends whose 20-year annual golf trip tradition, the one weekend they can count on each year to reconnect and briefly escape the pressures of adulthood, gets derailed when a fourth friend drops out at the last minute. The remaining three arrive at a picture-perfect resort only to be paired with Chuck Wheeler, an aggressively friendly, boundary-free solo golfer who inserts himself into the group and tests their patience at every turn.
Segura, known for leaning into unhinged or aggressively unlikeable roles on Bad Thoughts, plays Chuck. Santino, an avid golfer with his own golf-focused podcast, No Bad Lies, plays Jason. Simons plays Don, with Walls as Mike, Graham as Margo, and Stamos as Ted. Producer Jolene also stars, playing Stacy.
Director Nicholas Thomas, who co-wrote the screenplay with Corey Pendergast, previously sold the comedy pitch Fantasy Camp to Amazon MGM’s United Artists with Nate Bargatze attached, and co-wrote and executive produced Let’s Be Cops. Stella Bulochnikov and Jolene produce alongside Luke Kelly-Clyne and Kevin Hart for Hartbeat and Billy Rosenberg for All Things Comedy. Segura, Santino, Thomas, and Jeremy Stein executive produce, along with Aaron Edmonds and Harold Berón III for Hartbeat and Live Nation Studios’ Ryan Kroft and Michael Rapino. Brendan Darmody serves as co-executive producer.
The casting adds to a busy 2026 for Walls, who joined the cast of James Gunn’s Man of Tomorrow in an undisclosed physical role rumored to be a cameo villain, and starred opposite Chanté Adams in the body-swap romantic comedy short Switches, which won Best Short Film at the ESSENCE Film Festival.
Golf Trip also marks another notch for its studios. Live Nation Studios earlier this year released Stray Kids: The dominATE Experience, the first K-pop concert film to top the worldwide box office, and has other recent and upcoming projects including Anderson .Paak’s K-Pops!, Noah Kahan: Out of Body, and the festival comedy Rolling Loud: The Movie, starring Owen Wilson, Matt Rife, and Travis Scott. Hartbeat is coming off the launch of Funny AF with Kevin Hart, which drew nearly 42 million views in its first season and has already been renewed for Season 2, along with the Netflix comedy 72 Hours, starring Hart and Marcello Hernández, which hit #1 worldwide and stayed in the top 10 for six weeks. All Things Comedy, together with American High and LD Entertainment, scored earlier this year with Pizza Movie, which hit #1 on Hulu after premiering at SXSW, followed by the Tribeca-premiered Never Change!. The company has also launched new podcasts including After School Snack and Hold Your Peace, along with the Marie Faustin-hosted game show Why Are You Single? and The Bad Game Show, co-hosted by Santino and Bobby Lee.
