Faith Under Fire: Supernatural Thriller ‘Soul Snatchers’ Drops First Trailer

A remote island paradise harboring ancient darkness sets the stage for Soul Snatchers, a new supernatural faith-based thriller from director Julio Román that dropped its official trailer today.

Cameron Arnett, known for his role in The Forge, leads the film as Emmanuel, a man driven by conviction who uproots his family and returns to the island of his childhood with an ambitious and deeply personal mission: building a music school for orphaned children. But the island’s serene beauty masks something far more sinister, and it does not take long before an insidious force begins working its way into the family’s lives.

The threat manifests quietly at first. Emmanuel’s youngest son falls under the sway of a mysterious and opposing figure, while his older son becomes consumed by his work and begins drifting from the family’s values. What starts as a story of hope and purpose soon transforms into a fight for survival, both physical and spiritual, as the family confronts a darkness that is after far more than their lives.

Written by Román and Cesar R. Castillo, the film blends supernatural suspense with themes of redemption and resilience, positioning itself as an elevated horror thriller with a spiritual core. The ensemble cast includes William Oliver, Carla Adell, Rebecca Rogers, and Osvaldo Friger.

Soul Snatchers made its market debut at the 2026 Marché du Film at the Cannes Film Festival. A release date has not yet been announced.
