Taye Diggs’ Vertical Platform Microhouse Films Launches With 7 Original Series

Taye Diggs, alongside partners Autumn Federici, Shelby Stone, James Black and Troy Brookins, has officially launched Microhouse Films, a first-of-its-kind vertical storytelling platform putting distribution directly in the hands of filmmakers. The app is available now on the App Store and Google Play.

Microhouse Films enables creators to produce, distribute and monetize their work within a single platform, removing traditional barriers between content creation, monetization and audience access. Unlike traditional self-distribution models, the platform charges no subscription, upload or hosting fees for creators. Through an ad-free, credit-based model, filmmakers determine which episodes are free and which are unlocked using in-app credits, giving creators control over pricing, release strategy and revenue. To celebrate the launch, anyone who downloads the app before July 8 at 8 a.m. PT will receive five complimentary credits to begin unlocking premium episodes.

“When we first introduced Microhouse Films, our goal was to create a platform where filmmakers could take ownership of how their stories reach audiences,” Diggs said. “Launching the platform today is an exciting milestone, but it’s really just the beginning.”

The platform launches with a multigenre inaugural slate spanning romance, documentary, drama, thriller and more:

  • Love, Lust & Loyalty — Directed by La Jill Hunt and Kimberly LaTrice Jones. A media titan’s shocking diagnosis sends her family and boardroom into chaos, surrounding her with rivals, opportunists and hidden agendas.
  • Tunnel Vision — Directed by Alivia Levie. A nonlinear coming-of-age drama following a Bay Area family across a shifting timeline where every sibling takes a turn as hero and villain.
  • Beliath — Directed by Cristian Parras. A small-town TV crew reporting on a brutal murder uncovers a hidden cult whose secrets were never meant to be filmed.
  • Unexpected Company — Directed by Tiffany Yvonne Cox. Three women’s staycation is upended when three men accidentally rent the same house, with love, drama and chaos following.
  • Episode 12 — Directed by Shawn Robinson. A mystery built around a television episode pulled from broadcast in June 2023 with no explanation, and the video that surfaces over a year later claiming to be what never aired.
  • Unmasking Monsters Below — Directed by Justin Sago and Ryan Matthews. Divers and researchers venture deep into shark territory to separate myth from fact, uncovering findings that upend everything known about the ocean’s most misunderstood predators.
  • Tides of Temptation — Directed by Gary Entin and Edmund Entin. A Caribbean romance set on the island of Nevis expanding the cinematic universe of Lifetime’s Terry McMillan Presents: Paradise With You.

Built in partnership with developer Prashant Mody and Vetrai, the platform features built-in discovery tools, customizable genre and trope tagging, branded promotional pages for every series and secure global streaming infrastructure. Designed specifically for mobile viewing, audiences can discover bite-sized, bingeable episodes through a swipeable feed or watch full series season by season.
