‘The Bear’ Season 4 Trailer Heats Up: Carmy’s On the Clock and Sydney’s at a Crossroad

Yes, chef! FX has officially dropped the full trailer for The Bear Season 4 — and it looks like the pressure in Carmy’s kitchen is hotter than ever.

Premiering June 25 on FX and Hulu, the upcoming season sees Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White) and his crew at The Bear fighting to keep their fine-dining dreams alive — while navigating bad reviews, burnt bridges, and the brutal reality of the restaurant business.

As Carmy tries to steady the ship, Uncle Jimmy (Oliver Platt) makes it clear: if the restaurant can’t turn a profit, the clock literally runs out — and so does the funding.

Meanwhile, Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) has a big decision to make. After spending three seasons pouring her heart into this restaurant, she’s now weighing a new offer that could pull her away from The Bear entirely. And with tensions running high, the trailer teases what could be the team’s most make-or-break season yet.

The logline from FX promises a season that’s about more than just survival:

“This season, the pursuit of excellence isn’t just about getting better – it’s about deciding what’s worth holding on to.”

And it’s not just on-screen where new stories are being cooked up.

Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Abby Elliott, and Matty Matheson also star in the series with recurring roles filled by Oliver Platt, Molly Gordon, and likely some familiar faces from past seasons. Of course, no season of The Bear would be complete without its buzzworthy guest stars. Previous seasons have featured Jamie Lee Curtis, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, John Cena, Olivia Colman, and more — so expect a few surprise ingredients in this next course.

What Happened in Season 3?

When we last saw the crew, The Bear had finally opened its doors — but early momentum gave way to growing pains. Carmy faced backlash for his chaotic management style, Sydney felt underappreciated, and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) was trying to right his personal wrongs. The season ended with a crushing moment: a mixed review pushed Carmy to his edge, yelling into the void in frustration.

Now, with the staff reeling from inconsistent reviews and rising stakes, Season 4 is poised to test just how much this ragtag team can take before it all boils over.

Ayo Edebiri and Lionel Boyce Are Co-Writing an Episode

Following her powerful directorial debut with the Season 3 standout “Napkins,” Ayo Edebiri is stepping behind the camera again — this time with pen in hand. She and fellow cast member Lionel Boyce (who plays Marcus) are co-writing an episode of Season 4, marking the first time two cast members have written for the show.

Edebiri confirmed the news on Deadline’s Crew Call podcast, and while she didn’t spill plot details, we know one thing: Sydney’s upcoming choice might shift everything.

Boyce, nominated for an Emmy last year, joins Edebiri — who already made history as the only cast member to direct — in shaping the story off-screen. Their episode is expected to carry the same emotional weight and character depth that made “Napkins” a fan favorite.

Behind the Scenes

Created by Christopher Storer, The Bear has become one of FX’s most decorated series, sweeping the Emmys and racking up Golden Globes for its unique blend of chaos, compassion, and culinary craft. Storer returns to direct most episodes and executive produces alongside Joanna Calo, Hiro Murai, Josh Senior, Nate Matteson, and Matty Matheson, with Courtney Storer serving as co-executive producer and culinary producer.

All 10 episodes of The Bear Season 4 drop June 25. Until then, sharpen your knives and brace yourself — because excellence has never come easy in this kitchen.
