The American girls are back, and this time, they’re not just shaking up British high society—they’re ruling it. The Buccaneers Season 2 officially returns to Apple TV+ on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, with new episodes dropping weekly until the August 6 finale.
Based on Edith Wharton’s unfinished novel, The Buccaneers follows a group of wealthy, free-spirited American women navigating the rigid, rule-bound world of 1870s London.
Season 1 ended on a dramatic note, Conchita (Alisha Boe) and Jinny (Imogen Waterhouse) found themselves entangled in their own scandals, proving that even in corsets and ballgowns, survival is a fight. Nan St. George (Kristine Frøseth) marrying Theo (Guy Remmers), the Duke of Tintagel, for the sake of her family, despite having chosen Guy Thwarte (Matthew Broome) as her true love.
Season 2 finds the Buccaneers fully entrenched in English society—Nan is now the Duchess of Tintagel, Conchita is a powerful social force as Lady Brightlingsea, and Jinny is making headlines for allegedly kidnapping her own unborn child. With love, power, and status now within reach, the women must navigate a world where influence comes at a steep price.
Apple TV+ has also unveiled several first-look images, including a glimpse of new cast member Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl, Single Parents) as Nell. Other fresh faces include Greg Wise (The Crown) as Reede Robinson, Jacob Ifan (A Discovery of Witches) as Hector Robinson, Grace Ambrose as Paloma Ballardino, and Maria Almeida as Cora Merrigan.
Returning for Season 2 are Josie Totah (Mabel Elmsworth), Aubri Ibrag (Lizzy Elmsworth), Mia Threapleton (Honoria Marable), Josh Dylan (Lord Richard Marable), and Barney Fishwick (Lord James Seadown) alongside Emmy nominee Christina Hendricks as Mrs. St. George.
The first teaser wastes no time in reigniting last season’s biggest heartbreak. “She chose me,” Theo declares, only for Guy to counter, “Did she?” With alliances shifting and old flames still smoldering, Season 2 promises a fresh wave of romance, scandal, and ambition.
Directed by BAFTA winner William McGregor, The Buccaneers is produced by The Forge Entertainment and executive produced by Katherine Jakeways, Beth Willis, and Susanna White.
After a whirlwind debut in 2023, The Buccaneers is back for a second season of power plays, passion, and plot twists. Mark your calendars—this summer, the drama belongs to the women.
