The eight-part show, created by Ritchie, draws inspiration from the 2019 Miramax film, which starred Matthew McConaughey. The storyline follows Eddie Horniman, portrayed by Theo James, who inherits his English aristocrat father’s estate and unexpectedly becomes the Duke of Halstead. The estate conceals the largest cannabis farm in Europe, leading Eddie to navigate the criminal underworld and outsmart gangsters.
Vinnie Jones, Joely Richardson, Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Peter Serafinowicz, and Max Beesley round out the cast. Ritchie directs the first two episodes and serves as an executive producer alongside Matthew Read, Marn Davies, and Ivan Atkinson. Marc Helwig represents Miramax TV, with Will Gould and Frith Tiplady for Moonage Pictures. Hugh Warren is the series producer, with Read and Ritchie as co-writers.
