NBC has announced a major shakeup for The Voice Season 31. Keke Palmer will take over hosting duties from Carson Daly, who has helmed the show since its 2011 debut, while Queen Latifah returns as coach alongside Riley Green and newcomer Joe Jonas.
The season, dubbed The Voice: Celebrity, marks the first celebrity edition of the franchise anywhere in the world. Instead of undiscovered talent, the season will feature actors, musicians, influencers, athletes, comedians and reality television stars competing to become the first Voice celebrity champion. Celebrity contestants will be announced at a later date. The season is set to premiere in 2027.
For Palmer, this marks her second hosting gig at NBC, where she also hosts Password. She currently stars in Peacock’s The ‘Burbs and previously served as a guest mentor on American Idol. Daly will remain involved as a producer on the celebrity season.
Queen Latifah returns after making her coaching debut in Season 30 this fall, bringing decades of music, film and television experience to the red chair. She will be joined by Riley Green, also returning after his Season 30 debut, and Joe Jonas, who makes his U.S. coaching debut having previously coached on the Australian version of The Voice and served as a mentor and battle advisor on the U.S. edition.
New features for The Voice: Celebrity include Voice Boot Camp, offering a behind-the-scenes look at celebrities preparing for their blind auditions, a VIP Room where artists watch fellow celebrities perform and a Workroom where contestants strategize and rehearse ahead of battles.
The Voice Season 30 premieres Monday, September 21 at 8 p.m. on NBC with new episodes streaming the next day on Peacock. The Voice: Celebrity premieres in 2027.
The Voice is produced by MGM Alternative, Warner Horizon Unscripted Television and ITV Studios. Creator John de Mol executive produces alongside Audrey Morrissey, Mark Burnett, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson, Adam H. Sher and Barry Poznick.
