Tracee Ellis Ross Reunites ‘Girlfriends’ Cast in First-Ever Commercial for Pattern Beauty

It’s not a Girlfriends reboot… but it’s the next best thing.

While a Girlfriends reboot or movie isn’t (yet) on the table, Tracee Ellis Ross is giving fans something just as nostalgic and joyful. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the beloved series, Ross’s brand Pattern Beauty has launched its first-ever commercial—and it stars the original girlfriends themselves.

Jill Marie Jones, Golden Brooks, Persia White, and Ross reunite onscreen for the first time since their 2019 Black-ish appearance. Directed by child. and produced by ATTN: and De La Revolución / Prettybird, the campaign feels like a reunion wrapped in curls, comedy, and community.

In the spot, Ross—serving as the ever-fabulous Chief Curltender—guides each of her co-stars to their ideal product cocktail. From flake-free definition to touchable hold and shine, Pattern has something for every curl type. But of course, it wouldn’t be Girlfriends without a little chaos.

Golden Brooks makes a dramatic entrance (and accidental fall), declaring “The curls fell!”—a moment that triggers laughter, love, and a full-on product intervention. Persia White, true to her character Lynn, hilariously tries to take extra product home with her. Jill Marie Jones rounds it out with signature style and flair, reminding us exactly why fans fell in love with these women two decades ago.

Pattern’s product lineup—which includes shampoos, conditioners, stylers, hot tools, and accessories—is showcased throughout the commercial. As the brand celebrates six years in the beauty space, this campaign marks a new chapter of growth and storytelling.

Whether you’ve been rocking with Girlfriends since 2000 or discovered them through reruns and rewatches, this reunion is a joyful nod to friendship, hair love, and legacy.
