David E. Talbert’s Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey on Netflix was a huge success. Now Talbert is set to bring another musical project to our screens, ‘Twas’ the Night’ which is a musical anthology series in development at Disney+.
Becky Hartman Edwards will executive produce the show, which will see Santa Claus, now retired to civilian life, share stories of his magical adventures with his grandchildren, who insist he tell them about the one fabled night where everything went wrong.

The show promises to be a unique addition to Disney+’s lineup, offering viewers a different perspective on one of the holiday’s most iconic characters. Talbert will write and executive produce the show with his wife and producing partner Lyn Sisson-Talbert through their Golden Alchemy Entertainment.
The production house has a first-look deal at Netflix, allowing the duo to write, direct, and produce movies following the success of Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey. Talbert’s varied background in theater and playwriting suggests that Twas’ the Night will be a creative and engaging addition to the Disney+ slate.

Talbert is repped by UTA and JSSK, having won the NAACP Trailblazer Award for his accomplishments in theater and the New York Literary Award for Best Playwright of the Year for his musical Love in the Nick of Tyme. He has also written and produced 14 national tours and the novels Love on the Dotted Line and Love Don’t Live Here No More: Book One of Doggy Tales, which he co-wrote with Snoop Dogg. With such a broad range of experience, Talbert’s creative endeavors are sure to delight viewers and critics alike.
