As anticipation continues to boil over for the return of “All American: Homecoming” for its third season, Showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll recently gave details into what we can expect from the upcoming season. Speaking with Deadline at the celebratory event for “All American’s” 100th episode, Carroll unveiled some exciting updates regarding the forthcoming 13-episode season.
“We’re currently shooting what might be one of my favorite episodes of the season,” Carroll shared with enthusiasm, dropping hints about a special homage to the romance genre. “It is sort of a tribute to my love of rom coms [and] my love of beautiful, slow-evolving relationship movies and dramas,” she elaborated, promising an episode that captures the essence of heartfelt storytelling.
Continuing in the tradition of engaging narratives, Season 3 of “All American: Homecoming” is poised to deliver a compelling storyline that mirrors the growth and evolution of its characters. Carroll revealed that the upcoming season will feature a time jump similar to its predecessor, presenting fresh challenges and experiences for the beloved characters to navigate.
Changes in the casting landscape suggest intriguing developments in the storyline. Former series regulars Peyton Alex Smith and Kelly Jenrette will now recur, while Martin Bobb-Semple has been promoted to a series regular. Carroll remained tight-lipped about specific plot details but assured fans to anticipate unexpected twists and turns from the writers’ room.
“The actors have taken the new direction we’ve taken the show in and they’ve just raised it to another level,” Carroll expressed with excitement. “I am so excited for people to see this season of Homecoming and how our characters have also grown and matured and how they’re now handling situations differently.”
Set against the backdrop of Bringston University, the series features a talented ensemble cast including Geffri Maya, Cory Hardrict, Sylvester Powell, Camille Hyde, Mitchell Edwards, Netta Walker, and Rhoyle Ivy King.
