Kelly O’Sullivan and Alex Thompson are back. The duo behind Saint Frances and Ghostlight have unveiled the first trailer for their third film, Mouse, ahead of its limited theatrical release on November 6 from the Independent Film Company, with a wide release following November 13.
Set in 2002, the film follows Minnie (Katherine Mallen Kupferer), a shy high school senior who has long lived in the protective shadow of her charismatic best friend Callie (Chloe Coleman). When their lifelong friendship is suddenly upended at the start of the summer, Minnie struggles to define her own identity and forms a complicated relationship with Callie’s poised, attentive mother (Sophie Okonedo), pulling her further from her own chaotic home.
The film also stars Tara Mallen, Iman Vellani and David Hyde Pierce. Mouse was directed by O’Sullivan and Thompson from a script by O’Sullivan.
Mouse opens in limited theaters November 6, with a wide release November 13.
